It’s hard to categorize Diata Sya. Sure, they rap on most of their songs, but the structure of these songs and the musical elements they incorporate reach far beyond the typical hip hop sound. Their album, Djekafo Paris Bamako, sees Diata Sya paired with many established and upcoming artists. On Saria, Diata Sya features French hip hop heavyweight Mokobé, member of the group 113, who has also been stretching his sound to incorporate more of his Malian heritage.
