Quophi started making noise in Accra in the late 1990s, as part of the Akyeame duo with Okyeame Kwame. In
the early 2000s he spent a few years in the US where he fine-tuned his sound and production techniques. The result was Quophilosophy, an album heavily influenced by American hip hop. With his new album Higherlife, Quophi comes back to rich Ghanaian melodies and traditions, while sticking to rumbling bass lines and bouncy beats.
